hydraulically operated expanding systems hyd
Operation Description
A piston is pressurized through a screw-driven mechanism.
The sleeve’s diameter can expand up to 0.3% of its size, or up to 1% when using specialized equipment.
Clamping can be achieved either with an expansion sleeve or with a central rotating sleeve that has grooves on both sides.
Sleeve dimensions can be replaced to match the size of the through-hole.
Features
The steel arbor expands precisely to the required profile, ensuring total clamping accuracy within 0.003 mm.
The surface is wear-resistant, with an option for hard chrome plating, and can be reground repeatedly to maintain precision.
An expanding sleeve fits snugly into the bore of the workpiece, lowering resistance, reducing operational noise, and extending tool life.
This expansion system is compatible with both manual tightening and hydraulic actuation, and can be used for either rotating or stationary machining. Pneumatic or hydraulic rotary drives can also be employed.
Applications
Designed for clamping systems with a diameter starting from 10 mm, adaptable to a wide range of mounting setups.
Especially suited for thin-walled cylindrical components such as automotive cylinder liners, or light steel sleeves for tools and tubes that demand high rotational accuracy on the outer diameter.
Also applicable for jigs, fixtures, and precision measurement setups.
Operating Principle
HYD technology is compatible with both hydraulic expansion mandrels (internal clamping) and hydraulic expansion chucks (external clamping).
The clamping action can be initiated manually, mechanically, or via integrated system pressure.
